Why hello fall....

There's nothing quite like an inaugural cough and cold to kick off the fall season.

I'll be honest, I was hoping that my first day of autumn  would include a walk, a visit to Starbucks and perhaps the purchase of a fun fall scarf?

Well, let me assure you none of that will be happening today. My first day of fall has included a lot of tea, Tylenol and a steady dose of vitamin C.

However, this post is not about my miserable state (even though it is in fact, miserable).

It's about the lovely delivery  I received this afternoon:

I told my boyfriend I didn't want him to come over, and that I didn't want any treats.
It's a good thing he doesn't believe me when I say such outrageous things!

So even though I'm coughing and sniffling like my life depends on it..
I do have some steeped tea (a welcome change from the NeoCitran I've been guzzling down) and of course, treats!!
All thanks to an impromptu delivery from the boyfriend..
It's quite the consolation :)

The first day of fall hasn't lived up to my expectations; thank goodness my boyfriend always seems to exceed them..

My new favourite colour

Sea Salt is my new favourite colour.

Yes, you heard right. Sea Salt is a colour.

At least in the painting industry, where apparently colours are  described by the most peculiar nouns as opposed to standard adjectives. (Eg. grey = potters clay, yellow= sunflowers)

Trust me, it gets tricky (and kinda fun) when you're trying to have a serious conversation about painting your room either "elephant" or "birdbath".

Anyways, back to Sea Salt.

Sea Salt is the colour of my newly painted room.

Newly painted by none other than my ahh-mazing boyfriend, who would come to my house before and after work to prep, prime and paint my room to Sea Salt perfection.
He would say that I helped, but to be fair it was all him (I did however supply beverages whenever he was thirsty, I guess that counts?)

So there you have it.

The story behind my new favourite colour.

One last Ode to Summer...

September 1st.
I'm sure many people look at this date and exclaim, "Where did summertime go???"
Because as much as Autumn officially begins 21 days from now, September 1st unofficially marks the descent of Summer and the anticipation of Fall....

But before I gear myself for football talk, school talk and the never ending complaints of the inevitable rain that will soon drench us, I'd like to dwell on Summer a little longer...

Years ago, I thought the definition of a wonderful summer meant;
lavish vacations
dinners on restaurant patios
never ending parties
sun soaked jogs along the seawall
and a decent paycheck to support all of the above...

Well it turns out the definition of a good summer means doing anything really,
as long as you have amazing people around you.

I was not lacking in the amazing people department this year...
More specifically, I was not lacking in the amazing boyfriend department.

And while I don't have the blog posts to prove it, you can trust me when I say
we had a wonderful* summer.

*That's right, I italicised the word "wonderful".
Our Summer was just that** good.

**That's right, I italicised the word "that".
    I was emphasizing my point.
