Ghost of Christmas Past....

Five years ago today, my boyfriend and I went on our first date. He took me to the Playhouse to go see Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol .  I can still remember him trying to convince me to go,

"I'm buying the tickets either way" he said confidently,

" And I want you come, but I'm going whether you're with me or not.."  he added.

And of course I went,  even though I'm pretty sure I didn't confirm until the day of the show (we're both pretty stubborn). I've been to countless plays and shows since then..

But to this day A Christmas Carol is still the best play I have ever been to,

I'd like to think it was because of the company...

Bracelets

I have a grand total of two bracelets to my name. 

Both given to me by the same person.

Both unique in their own way.

And while I never used to be a big fan of ornate things adorning my wrist..

I can honestly say that these two pieces have become beloved staples in my jewellery collection.

I was the lucky recipient of the latter..which means today I will be wholeheartedly cheering for the Cowboys (or whoever I'm supposed to be cheering for).

By now it should be fairly obvious that I'm a sentimental person. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that when my boyfriend and I went to Chinese food for the first time, I saved the fortunes from our fortune cookies. And with fortunes like the ones we got, how could I not?!

I don't want to jinx it, but I think Confucius is on our side....

Oh how I love a good dose of karma!

Last Christmas I made my boyfriend an advent calendar.
I collected boxes, wrapped them, and numbered them accordingly. I filled each box with treats, notes, and random Christmas facts like,

"Did you know that Jingle Bells was originally written as a Thanksgiving song?"

This year I was hoping to sneak into my boyfriends house, take back the calendar, and fill it up for him again.
But to my surprise, my boyfriend had already filled up all the boxes!
I guess this year, he thought it would be my turn to have a go at the advent calendar..

Call it karma, or call it luck...
whichever way you spin it, my boyfriend is better than yours ;)
