The gift that keeps on giving...

My boyfriend showed up to his birthday dinner with a gift for me.

It's really a gift for both of us; because an oven for me means cookies for him (that is if I don't eat them all).

I can't say enough about what a generous and thoughtful person he is.

So, I will just leave it at this...

Nope,
my boyfriend did not get a Facebook message from me wishing him a "happy birthday",
he didn't even get a card.

But!

He did get his very own book!!

Well, not really...

I mean, not yet...

It's still "in transit" if you will...

So,
I figured I'd post this screen shot of his very own book,
on his very own blog,
to remind him that his very own girlfriend,
did not forget his very own birthday..
(She's just very bad at estimating Canada Post deliveries...)

Tuna melts and strawberry lemonade..

I love watching my boyfriend cook.

And when I say " cook ",
I mean, " make sandwiches, and use integral culinary appliances such as the toaster and microwave oven generously".

Nevertheless, 
Some of my favourite moments with my bf  is watching him meticulously chop up ingredients, and prepare our meals with such care.. There is something about it that always puts a smile on my face (and it's not just because I know I'll be eating soon!)

No, He doesn't cook five course meals..
But I dare you to find someone who makes tuna melts and strawberry lemonade better than him.

My boyfriend has always told me he was a cute baby. 
However, given my boyfriend has never been the modest type, I always assume statements he makes about himself may have a little exaggeration attributed to them.
Therefore, I never paid much attention to this self-assertion of his.

Well, it looks like he didn't need to be modest on the 'cute baby' comment.

My boyfriend may exaggerate on a lot of things..but his statement about being a cute baby was right on the money.

Remember the days when it was cool to have your birthday before your friends? How there was a sense of pride in being older than the other kids in your grade, even if it was just by a month, a week, a day....

Oh to be young and naive again....

My boyfriend and I are celebrating our birthdays this month.
I remember teasing him about how I was older than him..I thought I was sooo cool.
How misguided of me.

And while I'm not as happy as I used to be about having my birthday before his...I'm still glad I share the month of may with a pretty stand up, younger guy ;)
